I’m sorry, i didn’t understand which of the crafting items that you refer but on the official twitch stream they said that there is no other way to get gathering tools other than the vendor npc for the time being. But we are still in the early access so i assume some of the systems that we’ve seen will be a subject to change.

I was talking about Butter, milk and the other thing you need to craft food.
At the moment everyone is only cooking Corn because it's the cheapest.

If they allowed you to gain more EXP to craft food that has more resources

I totally agree. Moreover, paying Coin for crafting / producing something is ridiculous too. What year are we living, 2004? Even back in 2004, World of Warcraft wasn't requiring you to pay for something you're crafting, only for recipes.
